Abstract
Facilities for elderly care are often located away from the rest of society, creating disconnect from other citizens. A facility located in a downtown area allows for connections to the elderly, by placing them in the heart of the city. Mixed – use functions in the building create opportunities for interaction in order to reintroduce the elderly as an integral part of society.
