Predicting Sexual Satisfaction from Self-Objectification and Alcohol Consumption

This study was conducted to examine if gender, self-objectification and alcohol consumption were predictors of sexual satisfaction. It was expected that females would self-objectify more than males and self-objectification would negatively relate to satisfaction. It was expected that drinking alcohol would also negatively relate to satisfaction. Undergraduate participants (n=235) who reported a heterosexual sexual encounter within the past three months completed an online survey. Multiple linear regression analyses were conducted separately for males and females. It was found that gender was not a predictor of satisfaction; self-objectification did however negatively relate to sexual satisfaction for males and females, and alcohol consumption at most recent sexual encounter also negatively related to sexual satisfaction. Alcohol consumption over the last month did not negatively relate to satisfaction. Control variables included gender, BMI, year in school, and relationship status.

A Comparison of University of Students’ Perception of Green Building in South Korea and the U.S.A

As the green building movement becomes more popular, building occupants expect green buildings to meet their perceptions in regard to health, affordability, and environmental impact. The current marketing and green building industry lack research on the impact of culture and education on the value placed on green building attributes. This study presents the results of survey of 112 South Korean and American university students, in an effort to quantify the importance of the common categories from leading green building certification systems used in the U.S. and South Korea. The perceptions of the two rating systems’ categories are calculated through the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Results of this study show differences and similarities in green building perceptions based on gender, culture, and educational background among “Materials and Resources”, “Indoor Environmental Quality”, and “Energy and Atmosphere” categories.

Mobile Advertising and its Acceptance by American Consumers

Mobile advertising creates opportunities for marketers to capture the attention of consumers on a one-to-one basis. However, there is little data proving the success of mobile advertising models. This study examined the drivers that influence consumer’s acceptance of SMS-based mobile advertisements and the differences in responses between two cultures, Finland and the United States. My questionnaire and conceptual model was taken from a study done in Finland in 2007. My results indicated that utility, context and trust are positively related to the acceptance of mobile advertising while sacrifice is negatively related. Control did not have a clear relationship to acceptance because three of the four questions about control averaged more than 6.0 on a seven-point scale meaning there was no variation in the responses. However, when a separate regression was done on the remaining control question, a strong positive relationship between that question and acceptance was found.

Linked Into a Job?: the Ethical Considerations of Recruiting Through LinkedIn

LinkedIn’s goal is to help business professionals meet, make business deals, inquire about jobs, and find careers through connections with people that members already know. This research study will investigate the ethical practices of LinkedIn recruitment. Students’ awareness of the methods for effective use, as well as the damaging elements of a LinkedIn profile will be examined. LinkedIn is an effective, helpful tool for recruiting candidates and for job searching; however, the best results will come to those who use LinkedIn professionally and with caution. Our findings indicate that despite its risks, jobseekers and employers can benefit from using LinkedIn.
