Abstract

The authors’ focus of this book is on how maturation, experience, and, perhaps most important, teaching influence the unfolding development of children’s abilities. The role of culture, motivation, intelligence, and socioeconomic status each receive attention, and in readings, the authors also offer novel thinking about creativity, and social and affective components of learning.
