Image of the exterior of the Mott House that was originally built circa 1680 by Jacob Mott I. It was an excellent example of vernacular architecture in early New England. Undergoing several additions, it's story is told in Anne W. Baker's chapter on the Mott House in her book "Collecting Houses" and in Dell Upton's case study on "Architectural Change in Colonial Rhode Island: The Mott House as a Case Study."
