Abstract
Taylor Swift redefines the traditional definition of “folklore” by inviting her listeners to rewrite her stories and pass them down. A close reading from a trilogy of songs within Swift’s 2020 Folklore album, reveals the richness of the album’s complexity as it explodes the dichotomy between “mere” popular culture and high culture.
