Abstract
Health psychology is concerned with understanding how biology, behavior, and social context influence health and illness. Recent advances in psychological, medical, and physiological research have led to a new way of thinking about health and illness. This book presents topical research gathered from across the globe in the study of health psychology, including leisure and depression in midlife; the benefits of humor on health and pain; hypnosis for the treatment of chronic pain; benefit finding relating to better emotional health in heart patients; blaming parents for their children's weight issues.
