Abstract
Use of elliptical cladding elements in hollow-core negative curvature fibers is proposed for enhanced THz chemical sensing. Numerical investigations reveal a 0.25 THz improvement in operational bandwidth for relative sensitivities exceeding 98% in fiber designs with 5-tube twisted elliptical cladding elements.
