Abstract
On a sunny June day, students and faculty from Roger Williams University (RWU) gathered at Istanbul Bilgi University, situated at the confluence of Alibeyköy and the Kagithane rivers, at the headwaters of the Golden Horn (Haliç). The purpose of the site visit was to initiate the discussion of sustainability issues related to the reclamation of the Haliç, a once highly contaminated urban estuary.
